O2CM Help

Here are a couple of quickstart guides for a couple of common situations with the steps for registering for events.

Competitors are created within accounts. If you create a competitor within your account, you are expected to pay their entry fees using your account. If you are dancing with someone whose entry is being paid separately, then you must link their competitor record to your account by using their competitor number (see the instructions below).

User Guide

Here is some general user guide information with screen examples.

Logging Into OC2M

The link to the O2CM online tool is provided below. It is suggested that you right-click on the link below and select the option from the browser’s pop-up menu to open the link in a new browser window so that you can refer back to these instructions while completing the registration process.

Link to O2CM

The Entry Form Login window will appear after clicking link above. For the first visit to O2CM click the “Create New Account” button. (For repeat visits to the O2CM website, log in to the account you’re about to create using the “Email (Username) and “Password” fields and the “Login to An Existing Account Button”. (The graphic to the right may be clicked to enlarge it.)

Creation of Account

On the Create Account screen, enter

  • your email address,
  • create a password. (Make a note of the Password you create for future visits)
  • name,
  • snail-mail address,
  • and phone information.

The Studio/School Information is optional and may be left blank. Click the “submit” button

(The graphic to the right may be clicked to enlarge)

Creating Competitor Records

Navigate to the screen below.

The Account holder must at minimum create a competitor record for him/her-self. Find the down arrow in the appropriate box for the Gentleman(Lead) or Lady(Follow). Clicking the down arrow and highlight from the pulldown list that appears and select from

  • Create New Competitor Record using a current valid USA Dance Number (For current members of USA Dance)
  • Create New Competitor Record for Non-Member, TBA ……

For competitors without pre-existing USA Dance Numbers or Competitor Records, select the Non-Member option. Selecting this option for Non-Member will open the screen to the right and create a temporary “USA Dance Number” for a competitor for this event only. This does not create actual membership in the USA Dance organization. Make a record of this USA Dance number for future activities such as linking to a competitor record created in another account for creating a competitive partnership. Complete the required entry fields for the competitor information and press the “Save” button at the bottom right corner of the form to create the Competitor Record.  The “School” is not necessary.  Type your name exactly with capitalization as this is how your name will appear in heat lists.

If the entry fees for more people are to be paid are to be paid through this account (for example a married couple or a college team paid from a common fund), repeat the process selecting the appropriate Lead or Follow drop down menu to create the Competitor Record for the other individuals to be paid with in this account.

If competitor entry fees are to be paid by each competitor individually, then each competitor must create a separate account with their own email address and personal information. The other competitor should create their competitor record and record the temporary USA Dance number for their competitor record. Once both competitors have created their accounts and Competitor Record, only one of the competitors will register the partnership and entries for that partnership within O2CM. If a competitive partnership is intended to be created with another person who has not yet created their account and Competitor Record, then click the “Logout” button on the bottom of the “Competitor Registration” screen. (Login in again later to continue the process).

Linking Competitor Records Created in Another Account

After creating the Competitor Record in the other account and exchanging USA Dance Numbers, one of the competitors must link the Competitor Record for the other competitor to his/her account by logging into their O2CM and selecting the “Create New Competitor Record using a current valid USA Dance Number” from the pulldown list for the Lead or Follow from the “Create a Couple” dialog box. The Competitor Registration screen as above will appear except the USA Dance # field will be blank. Type the number for the competitor to be lined to this account in the “USA Dance #” field. Then click inside the “First:” name field. This should populate the fields with the competitor information for verification. If correct, click the “Save” button to link the Competitor Record to the Account.

Creating Competition Entries

Registering Couples for Events:

Navigate to the O2CM Competitor Registration screen in your account.

Section 1: Create a Couple. The competitors linked to the account will appear in the pull down lists for the Lead and Follow boxes. Select the partners in this couple from the pull down list

Section 2: Select the categories for the event(s) the couple will enter

  • All competitors for the Kansas City Dance Classic must be in the Amateur Division.
  • Select the Age Category. (Both members of the couple must be at the minimum age listed or older). Click the Age category to highlight it in blue
  • Select the Skill Level (Newcomer/Bronze/Silver/Gold) to highlight it in blue.
  • Select the Dances or style (Standard/Latin/Smooth/Rhythm) to highlight it in blue.

Section 3: Review the selected fields to ensure they are correct and click the “Enter Couple in Selected Events” button. Entries may be deleted by highlighting in blue the event listed in the box and clicking the Drop button.

(Steps 1, 2, & 3 may be repeated to enter the same or different couples in other events.)

Step 4: Review. Click the “Go To Account to review entries, Order Tickets and Pay Entry Fees” button

Payment of Entry Fees

On the Account Review page, the Entries under this account are listed at the bottom for review.

In Section 2, Tickets and/or Package Selections, Competitor Entries are ordered for each competitor paid through this account. The selections for this are as follows

  1. Package/Ticket Type: Adult and Senior Entry
  2. Seating: Competitor Seating
  3. Sessions: Session 1
  4. Section 1 (All seating will be General Admission)
  5. Highlight the name of the ticket-holder in Blue

Once all entries are correct, click the add button. Repeat the selection process to order the Competitor Entry tickets for other competitors paid through this account. After all entries are ordered, In Section 1 a box appears called “Secure Payment with Authorize.Net”. Click on it. Fill out your credit card information and click the “Submit” box at the bottom.

Other Information

Changes may be made to entries. These changes may be made by logging into O2CM at any time up until the registration deadline after which competitors will not be able to make changes. To drop an entry, navigate to the Competitor Registration screen, select the Lead and Follow in Section 1 which will result in the entries for that partnership appearing in Section 3. Highlight the entry and click the “Drop” button. The O2CM tool will prevent a competitor from being entered in the same event with different partners. To enter an event with a different partner, the previous partnership must be dropped from that event first.

It is possible for a competitor to be enrolled in multiple partnerships for different events. For example Larry Leader could compete with Faye Follower in Smooth Bronze and with Debbie Dancer in Smooth Silver. Or he could compete with Faye Follower in Smooth Bronze and with Debbie Dancer also in Smooth Bronze but at different age categories provided both members of each partnership meet the age eligibility by being the minimum age for the category or older.  Also, each dancer is limited to dancing in two consecutive age categories. (Refer to the Rules pages for explanation of the requirements).
